SAVE a Life .... Be A
Foster Parent!
Unfortunately this poor Beagle was in a pound
in an area of a state which had no acitve Beagle rescue.
We do not know if he lives today.
YOUR HELP is desperately NEEDED to SAVE Lives!
If you want to SAVE the life a Beagle
by being a Foster Parent ....
People who know anything about Beagles know
them to be sweet, cheerful and delightful companions. Unfortunately we also know
that for various reasons, Beagles end up in animal pounds and shelters. Sometimes they are
strays and sometimes, sadly the owners no longer want them. It is unfortunate that humans
are so lacking in loyalty but it is often the case. The majority of pounds and shelters are kill shelters and the no kill shelters often tell people they are full and send them away. When an animal is left at a kill shelter, if the shelter is crowded, the animal may be put to death the same day! If they do have room for them, the animal may only be allowed a few days of life. Some shelters keep an animal until they get sick and then put them to sleep. The prospects are dismal. Sometimes people place the blame for all this death on the shelters and pounds. However, the primary fault and the reason so many animals die are because people do not spay or neuter or people deliberately allow their animal to breed and there is also the sad problem that MANY people do Not keep their animal for the animal's entire life. It is only through the kind efforts of foster parents that some animals are SAVED. Rescue groups collect individual animals from pounds and shelters and provide care until the animals can be adopted to a caring home. Without dedicated and caring foster parents many more animals would die. Please SAVE A Life by becoming a foster parent!!! With YOUR help, one less animal will die! A
Poem to My Foster Dog
I am the bridge between
what was and what can be; I am the pathway to your new life. I am made of mush because my heart melted when I saw you -- matted and sore, limping, depressed, lonely, unwanted, and afraid to love. For this little time you are mine. I will feed you with my own hand, love you with all my heart, and make you whole. I am made of steel because when you are well and sleek, when your eyes shine and your tail wags with joy, then is when I will let you go -- not without a tear but without regret for you are safe. A new dog needs me now. |
